Delete your ShiftBoss account & data

This page explains how to request deletion of your ShiftBoss account and the personal data held about you. ShiftBoss is a staff-management app; your data is held on behalf of your employer (the business using the app), who is the data controller.

How to request deletion

You can request deletion in either of these ways:

1. Ask your employer (fastest). Your Admin/manager can open the app, go to Team → your name → “Permanently erase (GDPR erasure)”, which permanently deletes your profile and personal data.
2. Email us. Send a request from your registered email to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify your identity with your employer and action the deletion within 30 days.

What is deleted

On deletion, the following personal data is permanently removed:

• Name, email address and phone number
• Job title, hourly rate and profile photo
• 4-digit/6-digit PIN
• Clock-in/out records, breaks and leave requests
• Team chat messages
• National Insurance number, bank details and right-to-work / ID documents

What is kept, and for how long

Where the law requires it, certain payroll records (such as hours worked, pay and tax figures) may be retained by your employer for up to 6 years after your employment ends, to meet HMRC payroll retention obligations. After that period they are deleted. No other personal data is retained once your account is deleted.
